Dance Angel

Dear angel, Ever at my side
Be there today, my feet to guide.
Help me dance high, and light, and free,
So everyone will be proud of me.
May the judges be fair and the stages be spacious.
In winning and losing let me be gracious,
So that every dance I'll remember with pride.
And angel, please keep my shoelaces tied.

Career Week.

Career week is taking place on May 4th and 5th. On the 4th, we are going to some colleges and other businesses around the Pewaukee area. I think that that is going to be pretty fun because we get to see different lifestyles of businesses. Then, on 5th, we are having lots of speakers come to our school. We are going to some other places, I just don't know where. I'm really excited for career week.

Promotion.

Soon enough, the eighth graders are going to be having promotion. Girls have already been trying to find their perfect dress. Most have already bought their dress, just so they can be prepared. The boys have been trying to find a perfect shirt, or a perfect tie. Promotion may not seem like a very big thing, but to eighth graders, it is. Being sent off into high school is a great accomplishment. It is also a great feeling to know that you finished middle school, and you are turning into adults. The only scary feeling I have is that we went from being the top of school. Once we step into high school, we will be the youngest kids in there.

Springn Poem

For winter's rains and ruins are over,
And all the season of snows and sins;
The days dividing lover and lover,
The light that loses, the night that wins;
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotten,
And in green underwood and cover
Blossom by blossom the spring begins.

Creative Story

Mallory and Bubba were madly in love. They meet each other through one of those dating services online. People may think those things are stupid, but for Mallory and Bubba, it all worked. True love could not be as strong as Mallory and Bubba’s.
One day, Bubba went out to work, like he usually did. Mallory stayed at home, working around the house. On the way to work, Bubba heard a train coming, but the poles at the tracks weren’t going down. Kind of spazzing, Bubba tried to go as fast as he could, because he didn’t want to stop. As he approached the tracks, his car stalled and stopped right in the center. Bubba didn’t know what to do. The train was going to hit his car within seconds.

*BAM*

The train hit Bubba’s car. His car nearly was disinigrated, because it was damaged so badly. In the background, you could hear police cars and fire trucks, ambulances and panicking people. Bubba was no where to be found, because he was in the car. A tow truck finally arrived. People started to get the car onto the truck. Police were talking, and they said just to leave the body in the car, and bury the whole entire thing.
At home, all that you could hear was sobbing. Mallory was watching the news, and Bubba’s story was on at the moment. They talked about how he never got out of the car, and that his car was in horrible shape. The burial service was going to be next week, at the Washington Funeral Home. Mallory was so sad, because her true love was gone. Suddenly, she heard the door open. Very scared, Mallory grabbed her cooking pot and started walking very slowly to the door.
“Um, whoever’s there is going to get beat up. Because I’m just really strong. Yeah.”
Mallory was trying to act really buff, so she wouldn’t get hurt. But suddenly, she heard his voice.
“Honey, it’s just me, coming home from work. What’s up with the pan?” asked Bubba.
Mallory replied,”But…But I thought you were dead!”
“I’m not dead.”
“Well, the news just said that your car was hit by a train, and you were in it!”
“I sneaked out seconds before the car hit me. Then I ran into the woods and walked home>”
“Oh my gosh. What a relief.”
“Honey, it’s nothing to worry about. I’m here, I’m alright.”
Suddenly, Mallory and Bubba started hugging and kissing, making their sure that they were still in love. Sure, enough they were. True love is something that everybody wants, and Mallory and Bubba were lucky to have it. Now, both of them lived happily ever after.

End of the Year is ALMOST HERE!!!

Before you know it, the end of the year is going to approach. 7th graders move up to 8th grade, the top of the school. 8th graders move up to 9th graders, the bottom of the school. For the 8th graders, promotion is going to be a blast! The girls go head over heals for that perfect dress, and guys try to look all fancy. This may not be a great time for some people, but it is going to be a great time for me. I'm really excited to move up and out of Asa Clark. Going to high school is going to make me feel more mature. End of the year is almost here!

Short Story on Spring

My family and I were gathered around the dinner table. A freshly cooked ham was in the center of the table, along with mashed potatoes, and warm butter rolls. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, everybody was there. We were all chattering about the upcominw season of baseball, and whether the new soap opera was any good. This was a typical Easter. Every year, my mom and Uncle Lenny always argued over who was getting the last piece of pie, or who gets to cut the ham, or who sits where. You see, Mom and Uncle Lenny never got along when they were younger. They always fought over the silliest things. Unfortunatley, they still do today. This is the one thing I hate about my family.
After all of the racket calms down between Mom and Uncle Lenny, we all went into the living room. I sat down next to my cousin Elliot, who is 7, and my cousin Lydia, who is 2. It was time to do out annual tradition, tell stories about Easter. Of course, Mom and Uncle Lenny start up on who’s going first. After about 5 minutes, Dad steps in and breaks them up. He said that the order of the story telling is going to be the order of our ages. It’s going to start with the youngest, and go on and on ‘til it reaches the oldest. This sounds good to me. I am 13, and there are only 4 cousins younger than me. My cousins really don’t tell stories. They just talk about how excited they are to get candy and how the Easter Bunny is going to come. Everyone laughs because they sound so cute. Finally, I get to talk.
“I remember when I was younger, maybe six years ago. Well, I was coming down stairs to see if the Easter Bunny came. My mom told me that the Easter Bunny hid my basket. So, I actually had to go look and see where it was hid. After about maybe 10 minutes, I found it. It was inside the stove. Luckily, the stove was not on. Otherwise, my candy would have melted. That would of made me cry. Then I reached in and grabbed it. Once I did that, I turned around and I screamed. There was the Easter Bunny. Standing right in front of me. He was maybe 7 feet tall, and had a very big head. I screamed again, very frightened. The Easter Bunny told me ‘Happy Easter.’ Mom was laughing. Finally, the Easter Bunny took of his head. Luckily, it was just my dad. I thought that it was the real one. Dad told me that the Easter Bunny came late last night, and he was just dressed up as him. Ever since that moment, I have been afraid of the Easter Bunny.”
I said all of this pretty quickly. This is something that I would never forget, because it was one thing that I really feared. My younger cousins aren’t even scared of him. Well, whatever. Everyone is afraid of something, right?
The stories continued to go on. There were stories of everything. Easter Bunnies, Jesus, and of course, the candy. Grandma Hope said something about how she never got candy on Easter. This made all of my little cousins gasp. Everyone started to laugh. After all the stories were done, people went off and did their own little things. All of the little ones went into the corner and played dress up with all of Grandma and Grandpa’s old clothes. Mom and Uncle Lenny were actually getting along. Dad was chatting with some of my aunts and uncles. I just sat there, staring at everybody. Everything was just perfect. Nobody was fighting, and there was a nice chatter through out the room. Suddenly, I had the urge to go and just hug people. So, I got up and walked over to my grandma, right in the middle of her talking. I squeezed my arms around her. She was shocked, I tell ya. Her body shook when I squeezed her. Then I went and did this to everybody else, including Lydia. After I was done, everyone just smiled at me. Now, this is the one thing I love about me family.
On the way home from Grandma and Grandpa’s, I just sat and stared out the window. This is usually boring, but tonight, it wasn’t. Everything about tonight was rushing in and out of my head. There were good thoughts, and bad thoughts. Tonight I felt that I could actually say something good about my family. I never thought that I would even think of those words. That changed tonight.
Once I was home, I went straight to bed. Tomorrow was school again, and I needed to sleep. So, I said my goodnights to Mom and Dad, and snuck up stairs. After getting my pajamas on, I snuck into bed. Those good thoughts were still in my head. This made me smile. Five minutes passed. Suddenly, I jerked up.
I blurted out,” Ewww, I have school tomorrow.”
This made me go to sleep, in the worst possible mood.

Invite.

I am inviting you into a world
in which you never knew.
We can float up to the heavens
in which the sky is blue.
Every moment will be majestic
and endless and lovely and swift.
This is a place where angels live
and where the clouds are velvet.
We fly around on angels wings
and I smell your beautiful hair.
Later we can watch the sunset
and enjoy all the colors.
Every moment I want to be with you.
I am inviting you into a world
in which you never knew.

The Way I Loved You, by Taylor Swift--my favorite song (:

He is sensible and so incredible
And all my single friends are jealous
He says everything I need to hear and it's like
I couldn't ask for anything better

He opens up my door and I get into his car
And he says, you look beautiful tonight
And I feel perfectly fine

But I've been screamin' and fightin'
And kissin' in the rain
And it's two a.m. and I'm cursin' your name
You're so in love that you act insane
And that's the way I loved you

Breakin' down and comin' undone
It's a roller-coaster kinda rush
And I never knew I could feel that much
And that's the way I loved you

He respects my space and never makes me wait
And he calls exactly when he says he will
He's close to my mother
Talks business with my father
He's charming and endearing, and I'm comfortable

But I've been screamin' and fightin'
And kissin' in the rain
And it's two a.m. and I'm cursin' your name
You're so in love that you act insane
And that's the way I loved you

Breakin' down and comin' undone
It's a roller-coaster kinda rush
And I never knew I could feel that much
And that's the way I loved you

He can't see the smile I'm fakin'
And my heart's not breakin'
'Cause I'm not feelin' anything at all

And you were wild and crazy
Just so frustrating, intoxicating, complicated
Got away by some mistake and now

I'll be screamin' and fightin'
And kissin' in the rain
It's two a.m. and I'm cursin' your name
I'm so in love that I acted insane
And that's the way I loved you

Breakin' down and comin' undone
It's a roller-coaster kinda rush
And I never knew I could feel that much
And that's the way I loved you

And that's the way I loved you
I never knew I could feel that much
And that's the way I loved yo

Love and Pain.

Irish dancing is a great dance
I get to be free and light on my feet
But when I’m in pain I need another chance
To dance like an angel and hit that last beat
Irish dancing should be flowing and nice
Not like you’re dancing on hot coals
Everytime I place my foot on ice
I feel like I’m giving up on my goals
Being injured is not fun
Or a great way to way to get the job done
I should be able to dance
Without any pain or cramps and aches
I have to keep my head held high
And make no mistakes
If I do this I will fly
Like an angel in my dancing

2012

It was September 1st, 2012, the first day of school. Frank and Rosie were walking to school. Rosie was Frank’s little sister, and their mother specifically told Frank to watch out for her. They were both old enough where mother could trust them to walk to school, alone. Along the way, they had to walk through the busy streets of New York City, which is a very dangerous city. They had to look both ways before crossing every street. If they didn’t, they could get killed or seriously hurt. So, Frank and Rosie did exactly that. They made it through the streets without getting hurt. Rosie was really happy because they made it to school safe and sound. Frank was a little worried, because New York City is a very busy place. Thoughts were running through his head.
Some of the thoughts were,’Will we be able to make it across the streets safely, or will one of us get hit? What if Rosie gets hurt? I will be grounded forever if Mom found out.’
These thoughts were really making him worried, but when he saw all of his best friends at the doorway of school, he got suddenly happy. He knew that he was going to have a good day.
After school, Rosie was waiting for Frank outside of school. They had to walk home together. Rosie waited and waited. She waited and waited for about 20 minutes. Finally, Frank walked out of the doorway with a girl. He was smiling, and so was she. Rosie was pretty…shocked. She never knew that her older brother would get a girlfriend. He had cooties still, even though he was in the tenth grade. She was a sixth grader, and she still believed in cooties. She was getting a little old.
Frank started to walk over to Rosie.
“Um Frank, who is that?!” said Rosie, very surprised.
Frank replied,”Erin. A girl I met. We have a lot in common.”
“Whatever, let’s go home.”
“Kay, let’s go.”
Rosie and Frank started to walk off.
Quietly, Rosie said,”Frank has a girlfriend, Frank has a girlfriend.”
Frank shoved Rosie. The two of them happily went off, while shoving each other back and forth.

“Wow, Time Square is so busy today. How are we going to be able to cross?” asked Frank.
Rosie replied,”I have no idea. This is going to be difficult.”
They both looked up and down the streets to see if there were any openings. But there weren’t. It was so backed up, where a taxi tried to weave around a car in front of him. There wasn’t enough room, but the taxi still tried. It hit a pole, which crashed down.
“Woah! Watch out,” screamed out Frank.
Rosie moved out of the way, just in time. She wasn’t hurt, and no one else was. The pole hit a building, which made a big dent in it. People from the building came rushing out, pretty mad. Suddenly, a building a block away began to tip over and then crash. People were screaming everywhere. Frank grabbed Rosie’s hand and ran. They needed to find a safe place. Frank found one near a tree. They both sat down, really scared. Another building behgin to fall down.
Rosie was really scared. “Why is this happening?”she asked.
Frank said,”Today in class we reviewed that the Myan’s though the world was going to end in 2012. I think that this is happening because of that. I thought that it wasn’t true though. But, it obviosuly is.”
“I am really scared. Wait, what about Mom? What is she going to do?”
“She is going to be fine, trust me. You do trust me, right?”
“Of course I do.”
“Good. Okay, now all we have to do is sit here.”
Frank and Rosie sat there, watching out for other buildings falling down. Many were falling down, and many people were getting hurt. Things other than buildings were falling also, like trees. In Time Square, there are a lot of big trees. Luckily, none of them had fallen down. They looked like they were about to, though. One building in the distance started to fall, onto the big tree. The big tree was starting to fall, right behind Frank and Rosie. Frank looked back, and quickly jumped back. Rosie didn’t realize that the tree was falling, so she didn’t move. The tree was starting to creep up to her, and then finally landed. It landed right on her body. Rosie became unconciounce instantly. Right away, Frank got up and tried to help his sister. He tried to lift up the tree, but it was too heavy. The pole next to him was the only thing that could help him lift up the tree. Quickly, he grabbed the pole and pushed at the tree. He got the tree to move a little bit, but he had to try even harder. The pole was getting really heavy also. That did not stop Frank. He had to save his little sister. He was determined. Frank pushed the tree with all his might, and he finally got the tree off. Rosie was all dirty and drowned in blood. Frank grabbed Rosie and took her behind a fallen tree. He studied Rosie for a long time. She was bleeding from her stomach, and her arm. Hoping that she wasn’t dead, Frank tried what he could to get her stop bleeding. His shirt was the only good, useful piece of bandage that would secure her up. Frank tightly wrapped his shirt around her arm and stomach and waited. Rosie started to wake up. Rosie was so confused. Frank told her everything, like he always does. The two of them got up, and started to walk home. No buildings were falling, and everything has died down. Once they got to their house, they stood there and stared, with their mouths wide open. Their house got crushed from one of the trees. Their mom was standing outside, with all of their belongings that didn’t get crushed. Both of the kids ran to their mom. Mom was so happy to see them. She gave both of the kids a big hug. She explained what happened that day, and the kids were in complete shock. So, they took out some things from what belongings were still good in shape. They set up a camp sight, and settled down for the night.
Mom woke up early, and then woke up the kids. They set out foot to find a new place to live. They searched towns nearby. Finally, they came to a small town called Witchita. There were huge houses, and they were extremely cheap. The mother used what money she had left, and bought a house. The family put all of their belongings in the hosue, and went to bed. In the morning, the kids got up, got ready, and started to walk to school, just like they did the day before, January 1st, 2012.

Me and Injuries.

Injuries are not fun. As EVERYONE knows, I have been injured many many many times. All of those injuries come from dancing, because of the constant pounding. The pounding makes the bones bruised, like mine are. Many Irish dancers like me have these kind of injuries. They also can get stress fractures. I had a stress fracture. It is like breaking your foot, but it's not. You see, you are putting so much stress on your foot that it snaps. It is very painful. If you guys are thinking that I am always injured, don't be negative. Now, I hope that you understand what I am going through.

orientation--high school

Orientation at the high school was useful. I got a lot of information about classes and credits.

The one thing that is really odd about high school is that resource is in the beginning of the day. It is helpful, but I f eel it would be more helpful at the end of the day.

Having computers 24/7

Having computers 24/7 is a great idea. People can use it for homework. The teachers say that we should use flashdrives, but some of the homework we get can't get put onto a flashdrive.

I say that we should take the laptops home 24/7.

About Me

My photo
My name is Brenna, as you all know. I am an Irish dancer with the Trinity Irish Dancers. You know, it's really fun. I also like to play volleyball with school.
